Poll results - 12 June 2012

Looks like 50% of responders believe that natural hair is not harder to maintain than relaxed hair. 17% believe that it depends on the length. I, myself, do put a lot more effort into my natural hair than I did when I was relaxed. I think that is because I care more about the health of my hair did I ever did when it was relaxed.
50% of responders say that they spend 2-4 hours on their hair per week. One fourth of responders say that they spend 4 or more hours on their hair per week. I usually spend 3-4 hours, including the wash. I do wash and twist my hair weekly, presently. If I did smaller twists, I could easily be above that 4 hour mark. I think that the time spent is worth it for me.
If you didn't get a chance to respond, go ahead and take this opportunity to do so in the comments below!

This weeks twists. I finished them last night. Only took 2-3 hours. I don't even time myself anymore.
My hair is thick and coarse...and THICK! I mean, it is one thick head of hair. I have family members still traumatized from when I was a child. My hair has made great progress this past year as a result of me keeping it twisted. It stays stretched and untangled throughout my work week and I can still style it as I like. I love twist outs on the weekends!
I am all for easy, simple hair upkeep. All that I use after washing my hair is the East African Shea butter that I get from Shea Butter Hut. I do my twists damp, spraying with distilled water as needed. They dry overnight. More on that in a second....

Was too lazy to wash yesterday. Actually will wash tonight.
So the images below are that of a 4-day twist-out.

Didn't use as much Shea butter as usual and it def isn't as shiny or defined as usual. **pout** but my scalp needs to be thoroughly washed so I had to take these twists down for the weekend.

This week's twists.
I tried my hand at a wash 'n go again this week. It lasted two day and looked great in my opinion, but it was def dry.

Twists are a great beginner and protective style. I've been doing twists regularly and my hair has thanked me for it.
